COAS Praises Troops’ Excellent-Performance In Operation Desert-Sanity (Details)

Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), commended the troops’ exceptional performance in recent operations aimed at clearing the remaining terrorists in the North-East.

Speaking during an interview with journalists in Maiduguri, where he celebrated Eid-el Kabir with the North East Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai, Lagbaja expressed his satisfaction with the troops’ achievements. He assured them of continued support to maintain peace and security in the region and across Nigeria.

“I visited the Theatre Command today to personally thank the troops for their outstanding efforts during the recent phases of ‘Operation Desert Sanity 3,’ ‘Lake Sanity 2,’ and ‘Mountain Sanity 2,’” Lagbaja stated. He based his assessment on reports from Army headquarters detailing the neutralization of terrorists, rescue operations, and recovery of weapons and equipment.

Lagbaja highlighted the display of recovered materials and weapons at the parade ground, underscoring the troops’ effectiveness. He praised the theatre command’s engineering unit for repairing damaged equipment, particularly vehicles crucial for enhancing operational capabilities in the region.

During his visit, Lagbaja inaugurated office complexes and road projects at the Maimalari Cantonment in Maiduguri, and was shown recovered items from recent anti-terrorism operations.
