Criticism of Tinubu’s Appointments Wasn’t Born Out of Frustration – Senator Ndume

In an interview on Monday, Ndume criticized the appointments, describing them as lopsided and inconsistent with the Nigerian Constitution, and said they failed to reflect the federal character principles.

Reacting to this, Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to the President on Policy Communication, suggested Ndume’s statements stemmed from frustration.

 

However, Senator Ndume, in a post on his handle on Tuesday, clarified that his concerns were not born out of frustration, but from a genuine desire to see Nigeria’s unity and inclusivity reflected in the President’s appointments. He reiterated that the current appointments violated Section 14(3) of the Nigerian Constitution and did not align with the promises made under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Ndume emphasized that President Tinubu still has an opportunity to address the imbalance, stressing that he was speaking out of love for the country and his duty as a Senator. “We must build a Nigeria where every region feels represented,” he wrote.
