Done Deal! Fulham Secure Gonzalo Garcia In Record Move With Real Madrid Sell-On Clause

According to Ireporter Online, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the agreement between Fulham and Real Madrid has been concluded, with the Premier League club paying an initial €40 million fee and an additional €2 million in possible performance-related bonuses.

The deal also includes a 30 per cent sell-on clause for Real Madrid, alongside a first refusal option that allows the Spanish giants to match any future offer for the 22-year-old attacker.

Garcia’s move to Craven Cottage comes after interest from several European clubs, including Borussia Dortmund, Stuttgart, Fenerbahce and Sevilla, but Fulham’s project and the presence of manager Alvaro Arbeloa proved decisive in securing his signature.

Arbeloa, who recently signed a three-year contract after replacing Marco Silva as Fulham’s head coach, previously worked with Garcia during their time at Real Madrid’s academy and is expected to hand the young striker a significant role in his plans.

The forward departs Real Madrid after rising through the club’s youth system and establishing himself as one of the brightest prospects in Spanish football. During the 2024/25 season, Garcia impressed with Real Madrid Castilla, scoring 25 goals in 36 appearances before earning opportunities with the senior team.

He further enhanced his reputation during the 2025 Club World Cup, where he scored four goals in six matches after stepping into the starting lineup due to Kylian Mbappe’s absence.

Despite facing competition from Real Madrid’s star-studded attacking options, Garcia remained involved throughout the season, making 39 appearances across all competitions and contributing eight goals and three assists.

Fulham are confident that the Spain youth international will provide a major attacking boost after Rodrigo Muniz endured an injury-disrupted campaign. Garcia is expected to compete for a starting position as the club prepares for the new season.
