Edo APC Opposes Rumored Return Of Impeached Deputy Governor Shaibu

The All Progressives Congress (APC) chapter in Etsako West, Edo State, has vehemently opposed the speculated return of impeached Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu to the party. Yakubu Musa, speaking on behalf of APC stakeholders in Etsako West LGA, presented a communique outlining their stance. They highlighted that Shaibu’s departure from the APC in 2020 ushered in a period of peace and stability within the party, which they fear would be disrupted by his return.

According to the communique, the protesters view Shaibu’s attempt to rejoin the APC as a deliberate strategy to sow discord, disharmony, and unprecedented crisis within the party. They urged key party leaders, including National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, and State Acting Chairman Jaret Tenebe, to prevent Shaibu’s re-entry into the APC.

The protesters argued that Shaibu lacks electoral appeal and has not won any election since leaving the APC for the PDP. They emphasized that his readmission into the party would not contribute positively to its fortunes but instead invite chaos and dissatisfaction.

The APC members in Etsako West LGA firmly believe that allowing Shaibu back into the party would lead to internal strife, division, and the potential dissolution of the unity currently existing within the party’s local chapter. They called on national leaders to heed their plea and preserve the harmony within the Edo APC.

The communique issued by the protesters underscores their determination to resist Shaibu’s return and their commitment to maintaining the party’s unity and cohesion in the region.
