The building, located in the Old Market suburb of Lokoja, was razed down by the local government vigilante group on Tuesday afternoon following orders from Adamu. According to reports, the building posed a significant security threat to residents and was believed to have been a den for criminals involved in illicit activities, including drug trafficking.

During the operation, a substantial quantity of Cannabis sativa, commonly known as Indian hemp, was discovered in the building, along with some individuals caught smoking the substance. Adamu emphasized that Lokoja would not serve as a sanctuary for hardened criminals in Kogi State and vowed to eradicate criminal activities from the area.

Speaking at the scene, the Hakimi of Ward ‘D’ in Lokoja, Alhaji Isa Baba Nasidi, urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities in their neighborhoods. He emphasized that the demolition of the building would deter individuals intending to engage in criminal acts within the Lokoja metropolis.

The demolition action signifies the local government’s commitment to enhancing security and ensuring the safety of residents in the area.
