Edo Police Commissioner Denies Claims Of Ties With Wike Over Election Concerns
Edo State Commissioner of Police, Nemi Iwo, has refuted allegations that his recent deployment to the state was influenced by the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike. In a statement, Iwo labeled the claims as “baseless” and “mischievous,” asserting that his assignment was a standard procedure within the Police Force. He emphasized that there are no personal or professional connections with Wike and reiterated the police’s commitment to neutrality and professionalism in the upcoming governorship election. Iwo also dismissed suggestions that the police have any role in influencing election outcomes.
