Ekiti Man Faces Charges For Theft Of Food Items Including Fufu And Pot Of Soup
In Ekiti State, a 20-year-old man identified as Ojo Monday has been arraigned before the Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court on charges of housebreaking and stealing. According to Inspector Moyosola Adesola, the police prosecutor, the incident occurred on Thursday, March 14, 2024, around noon at Falegan, Ilawe Road in Ado-Ekiti. The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him.
The offences allegedly committed by the defendant contravene Sections 322 and 302(1)(a) of the Criminal Laws of Ekiti State 2021. In response to the charges, Olayinka Opaleke, the defendant’s counsel, requested bail for his client.
Chief Magistrate Mrs. Taiwo Ajibade granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000, along with one surety in like sum. The case has been adjourned until April 23, 2024, for further hearing.
