Fatal Accident on Kaduna-Abuja Expressway Claims One Life, Injures Three And ₦8.7 Million Recovered
A tragic accident occurred on the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway, resulting in the death of one person and injuries to three others. The accident involved a Golf salon car with registration number SBG 87 XB, traveling from Minna in Niger, which collided with an unnumbered trailer heading towards Kaduna. Initial investigations revealed that over speeding, fatigue, and loss of control were contributing factors to the crash.
A rescue team from RS1.16 Kakau responded to the scene and conducted the rescue operation. Out of the six people involved, three sustained various degrees of injury, while the driver of the Golf car lost his life. The injured individuals were promptly conveyed to Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital in Kaduna for further treatment.
In a surprising twist, a significant sum of ₦8.7 million was recovered from the accident scene. The money is currently in possession of the FRSC Command pending identification of the owner.
In a separate incident, an armed robbery on Wednesday night in Rumuolumeni, Rivers State, led to the tragic death of Inspector Sunday Baba, a brave police officer on duty. The state police command confirmed the incident, expressing condolences for the loss of Inspector Baba, who served courageously until his untimely demise.
