Governor Abba Yusuf Condemns Quality Of Meals In Ramadan Feeding Program

In a video circulating on social media, Governor Yusuf is seen inspecting one of the feeding centers in Gidan Maza, Municipal Local Government Area, where he expressed dismay at the small portions and lack of protein in the meals served.

According to a statement by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the governor’s impromptu visit was prompted by intelligence reports indicating mismanagement of the feeding program at various centers.

Yusuf emphasized that his administration would not tolerate dishonesty and mismanagement of public resources, promising to address deficiencies in the program’s management.

Additionally, Governor Yusuf urged President Bola Tinubu to consider reopening Nigeria’s borders for the importation of food items to alleviate the nation’s food crisis. He emphasized the importance of prompt action to ensure food availability and affordability, especially during Ramadan.

During a meeting with the Controller General of the Nigerian Customs Service, Alhaji Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, Governor Yusuf appreciated the Customs’ efforts in distributing food items to Kano residents. He pledged his support for initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of the people.

In response, CG Adeniyi highlighted the importance of strengthening the relationship between the Customs Service and the Kano community. He assured the governor of the Service’s commitment to addressing food shortages and difficulties in the state.
