These conditions are expected over parts of Sokoto, Kebbi, Kaduna, Katsina, Kano, Jigawa, Yobe, Borno, Gombe, Bauchi, Adamawa, Taraba, Benue, Niger, Kogi, Ondo, Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Imo, Akwa Ibom, Abia, Ebonyi, and Cross River States. Additionally, NiMet has projected light to moderate rainfall in certain areas of Lagos, Ogun, and Adamawa.

In contrast, the rest of the country is anticipated to experience very light or no rainfall.

NiMet has also cautioned of potential flash flooding due to the expected moderate to heavy rainfall, particularly on Thursday and Friday. Strong winds are anticipated to accompany these rains, making it unsafe to drive through surface runoff waters, which can have forceful undercurrents. Other risks include slippery road surfaces and reduced visibility, potentially causing disruptions to road traffic.

Additionally, NiMet advised the public to take precautions against potential hazards, such as securing weak structures, trees, and masts. It also recommended disconnecting electrical appliances before, not during, the rains. Citizens are encouraged to stay vigilant for further updates.
