Ihuoma Julia Nneji in Legal Trouble: Police Pursue Her After Breaking Off Engagement

Reports reveal that the Police had declared Nneji a suspect in a cybercrime investigation. However, she strongly denied any wrongdoing in a statement released over the weekend, asserting that the accusations against her were unfounded and the result of a personal vendetta from her former fiancé, Henry Uzochukwu.

Nneji explained that she and Uzochukwu had been planning their wedding until she discovered troubling information about his sexuality. She alleges that Uzochukwu is gay, which prompted her to cancel their wedding plans.

“I was never invited, questioned, or informed about any complaints. Waking up to find my name on a wanted list was shocking, humiliating, and completely unfair,” she stated.

The Relationship

Nneji revealed that she met Uzochukwu in April 2024, and their relationship quickly became serious, with marriage in the works. However, their planned wedding for November 2024 was abruptly called off in August after she uncovered unsettling details about his sexual orientation.

“This issue started when I found evidence suggesting he is gay, which led me to cancel our wedding plans,” Nneji explained. She added that she wasn’t the first woman to walk away from Uzochukwu, as previous relationships had ended due to similar concerns.

“I discovered that not only was he interested in men, but his past engagements also ended for the same reason. In fact, the woman he was supposed to marry before me left him just a week before their wedding for the same issue,” Nneji disclosed.

The Vendetta

Following the cancellation of their engagement, Nneji claims to have been subjected to harassment, threats, and false accusations from Uzochukwu. She believes that this harassment has led to her being unfairly targeted by the police.
