Remi Tinubu remarked:
“I want to thank His Excellency for assuring me of my safety, but I must say that I am too old to be afraid. If God has granted me 60 years, I believe I shouldn’t fear death. Nevertheless, I am grateful for the courage to be here today. Nigeria belongs to all of us, and now is the time to unite more than ever before. Nigeria needs prayers, and we believe that God will answer our prayers. I am here today to fulfill official duties and pay my respects to His Royal Highness, the Emir of Bauchi, for the warm reception we received, which is a great honor to me, and I truly appreciate it.”
Governor Bala Mohammed also extended an apology to the wife of the President on behalf of the people of Bauchi over the threat she faced.
He stated:
“You have distinguished yourself not only as a senator but also as a politician who has opened new frontiers in politics. Despite the challenges and threats to your life by someone from this state, you showed courage by coming to Bauchi. You have demonstrated that Nigeria is one, and no one can play politics with our lives. We are grateful to you, and you are more important to us than our own lives. On behalf of the people of Bauchi, we apologize for the national embarrassment. Rest assured, it will not happen again.”
