Just In: Tinubu Celebrates Election-Victory Of Mexico’s First Female President (View-Details)
President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday congratulated Ms. Claudia Sheinbaum on her election as the first female President of Mexico.
In a statement released by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Tinubu also extended his congratulations to the people of Mexico and emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral ties between Nigeria and Mexico in areas of mutual interest.
“The election of Sheinbaum accents women’s voices in government and shatters the political glass ceiling. It sends a reverberating message across the world that women must not only be participants but principal architects in shaping and implementing decisions affecting the lives of many,” Tinubu stated.
Sheinbaum’s victory marks a historic milestone as she becomes the first female President of Mexico since its independence in 1821. Her landslide win is seen as a significant step forward for gender equality in global politics.
