Kebbi Mourns As Ex-Deputy Governor Ibrahim Aliyu Passes Away

Former Deputy Governor of Kebbi State, Ibrahim Aliyu, has passed away after a prolonged illness.

According to reports, family sources confirmed that the former deputy governor died in Sokoto, where he had been receiving attention before his death.

Ibrahim Aliyu served as the Deputy Governor of Kebbi State between 2007 and 2015 under the administration of former Governor Saidu Usman Dakingari.

Following the announcement of his death, Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, expressed sadness over the loss, describing Aliyu’s passing as a major setback for the state, the Yauri Emirate and the country.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yahaya Sarki, the governor described the late politician as a respected leader whose life was defined by dedication, humility and commitment to public service.

Governor Idris praised Aliyu’s contributions as both a civil servant and political leader, noting that he played a significant role in the development of Kebbi State during his time in office.

He said the former deputy governor left behind a lasting legacy of integrity, service and leadership that would continue to inspire future generations.

“His invaluable contributions to the development of our state and his unwavering commitment to the welfare of our people will continue to inspire generations,” the governor stated.

Governor Idris also extended his condolences to the family of the deceased, the Yauri Emirate and the people of Kebbi State, while praying for strength and comfort for those affected by the loss. He further prayed for Allah’s mercy and eternal rest for Ibrahim Aliyu.
