Identified only as Adamu, the assailant wielded a machete against the husband and wife without provocation, leaving them severely wounded and hospitalized. The incident, which occurred on Friday, April 5, sparked the ire of the community, leading to the fatal lynching of Adamu by the mob.

Confirming the tragic event, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the spokesperson of the Adamawa State Police Command, urged the public to seek professional help for their mentally ill relatives rather than allowing them to roam freely. Nguroje emphasized the inherent danger to society posed by leaving mentally disturbed individuals untreated and unsupervised.
