NAPTIP Summons Speed Darlington Over Alleged S3xual Misconduct with Minor
The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has issued a summons to controversial Nigerian artist, Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington, following allegations of s3xual misconduct involving a minor.
This development stems from remarks made by the entertainer during a recent Instagram Live broadcast, where he alleged a s3xual encounter with a 15-year-old girl.
The Lagos State Domestic and S3xual Violence Agency (DSVA) flagged the incident to NAPTIP, urging the agency to launch an immediate and comprehensive investigation into the claims.
Amid mounting public outrage, Speed Darlington released a follow-up video in which he asserted that his earlier comments were part of a publicity stunt aimed at promoting his new music release. He also issued an apology for any offense or distress caused by the statement.
In a statement on Thursday, NAPTIP confirmed that the singer has been summoned for questioning. The agency emphasized that legal action would be taken should he fail to respond to the invitation.
NAPTIP reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to protecting minors and holding individuals accountable in cases of alleged abuse or exploitation.
