President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on political leaders to remain focused on governance and disregard criticism from opposition figures, whom he accused of acting contrary to democratic principles. According to Ireporter Online, the President made the remarks on Tuesday while receiving a delegation of political stakeholders from Enugu State, led by Governor Peter Mbah, at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The President also took a swipe at previous administrations, particularly over policies in the power sector, which he said had failed to deliver expected results. He stressed that his administration is working to overcome inherited challenges and reposition the country for growth and stability, while dismissing critics who, according to him, do not practice the democratic ideals they profess.

Reaffirming his government’s focus, Tinubu emphasised the importance of prioritising citizens’ welfare, economic prosperity, and sustainable development. He defended his administration’s economic strategy, highlighting the need for long-term planning rather than reliance on short-term funding to drive national projects.
