Yerima Shettima, the President General of the AYCF, asserts that the campaign seeks to weaken Tinubu’s support base in the North, with Minister of State for Defence, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, being a primary target.

The continuous attacks on Tinubu’s allies are viewed by the AYCF as part of a broader strategy to destabilize the government and hinder Tinubu’s potential re-election bid in 2027.
