According to reports confirmed by former ABS Managing Director Dr. Uche Nworah, the incident occurred in Amawbia, Awka South Local Government Area, involving a nursing mother as the perpetrator.

In response to the egregious act, measures have been taken to ensure justice for the victim and accountability for the culprit. It was agreed upon that the suspect, along with her husband, will sign an undertaking to refrain from employing underage house helps in the future.

Furthermore, as part of the restitution process, the perpetrator has agreed to open a fixed deposit of N500,000, with the victim as the beneficiary. Failure to comply with this agreement will result in prosecution.

Additionally, the husband has committed to sponsoring the victim’s education up to the university level, signaling a step towards the victim’s empowerment and recovery from the trauma inflicted upon her.

While legal advisories were considered, a consensus was reached during a meeting to pursue the aforementioned course of action, with the victim’s well-being and future prospects at the forefront of the discussions.

In a gesture of support, financial assistance amounting to N30,000 was provided to the victim’s mother to aid in her daughter’s upkeep.
