Olubadan Spreads Joy: Ramadan & Lenten Food Gifts For Ibadan Residents

According to Ireporter Online, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, distributed food packages to over 5,000 residents of Ibadan on Saturday in celebration of Ramadan and the Lenten season. The gifts, which included rice, beans, semovita, garri, maize, noodles, and cash, were presented to both Muslim and Christian beneficiaries.

Speaking through Olori Rashidat Ladoja, Oba Ladoja explained that the initiative was part of his longstanding commitment to giving back to the community, a tradition he has maintained for over 20 years. “This is the first time we are doing this since Oba Ladoja ascended the throne as the Olubadan of Ibadanland. The gesture is consistent with what we have been doing before, only the number of beneficiaries has increased this year,” the Olubadan noted.

He further emphasized that the initiative is rooted in the values of generosity highlighted in both the Quran and the Bible, and expressed gratitude for the peaceful and orderly distribution of the gifts. According to observers, the Olubadan’s dedication to the welfare of his people continues to be evident, building on his previous roles as a senator and former governor.
