Prof Ihonvbere Fulfils Promise Made To Ohia Community As Lawmaker Provides Support For The Reconstruction Of Ule Bridge In Owan West

The Member representing Owan Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Prof. Julius O. Ihonvbere OON, has again fulfilled his promise to the people as he provided materials requested by residents of Ohia Community to help rebuild the Ule Bridge in Owan West Local Government Area of Edo State.

Residents of Ohia Community, have continually experienced challenges in accessing their various farmlands, especially during the summer season due to the poor and dilapidated state of the Ule Bridge which has become a death trap. This challenge will however be a thing of the past soon as Prof. Ihonvbere makes a prompt intervention in arresting the situation.

Presenting the bags of cement and other support material as requested by the community stakeholders, Hon. Kelvin Esemuze, who represented the Lawmaker, said the gesture was aimed at alleviating the suffering of the people and grant easy access for residents in accessing their farmlands without fear or difficulty as posed by the terrain.

Prof. Ihonvbere, in fulfilment of his Job creation agenda, has also set up a standard Barbing Saloon for Mr Osaimaye Godday, an indigene of Owan East Local Government Area of Edo State. This is part of the Lawmaker’s strategy to ensure that youths in the community become self-employed as well as become employers of labour. The Lawmaker outside paying for the rent of the store furnished it with the needed equipment and tools including a brand new generator as an alternate source of electricity.

Mr Oisamaye, who has joined the large pool of beneficiaries that have so far benefited from the Lawmaker’s goodwill, was full of appreciation as he prayed for God’s blessings and protection upon Prof. Ihonvbere.

Last year, Miss. Blessing Samuel and a host of others were also set up by Prof. Ihonvbere bringing the numbers of individuals empowered to 3686 including youths and women. This alone has greatly increased the number of employed citizens outside the over 15 Federal Government Jobs for youths of Owan Federal Constituency by Hon. Prof. Julius O. Ihonvbere, OON.

Some of the empowerment and training programs carried out by the Lawmaker include; Training of youths & women in shoe production which included the provision of start-up kits; Training of Youths on Web design and Desktop Publishing with the provision of brand new HP laptops to trainees; Training of Youths and Women in Poultry and Fish Production and Enterpreneural training in Agriculture for Youths and Women.

Others include; Distribution of Empowerment materials to 650 women and youths; Provision of Empowerment materials to groups and associations; Vocational skill training program for youths on shoe and bag production among others.

Prof. Ihonvbere reassured the people of his commitment to ensuring the provision of qualitative and articulate legislative representation to citizens of OWAN FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY.
