Moses Omo-Ikirodah in acceptance of the award urged the delegation to advance a step further by getting themselves involved in the ongoing electoral process. Saying only deliberate participation can deliver the desired changes Nigerians seek.
“I am indeed honoured to be singled out for such an outstanding recognition and I promise to keep doing my best in whatever capacity I find myself to make things easier for the Nigerian youths, in as much as the youths of today are clamouring for aggressive change we must accept the fact that only united efforts can bring the required results we seek.
You must go a step further and brace up for the challenges ahead, the leaders we keep asking to retire got to where they are today through hard work, participation and full involvement in the electoral process at a very tender age.
The Youths are the backbone of every society. They form the active and strongest part of society because of their strength.
If we fail to participate in politics and the electoral processes, we are yielding the ultimate power to the older generation to make decisions about the leadership, policies and laws that will shape and guide our country for the period of 4 years which might end up being 8 years and we can be sure that those decisions won’t be in favour of the youth.”
Inclusive participation is a fundamental political and democratic right and the youth must wake up to the challenge”
Moses Omo-Ikirodah further charged the youths to ensure they obtain their PVC as this remains the only passport to effective participation in the electoral process.
