Adams warned that ongoing rivalries among traditional rulers pose a serious threat to the unity, cultural heritage, and developmental prospects of the Yoruba people. Addressing traditional leaders, cultural enthusiasts, and members of the public, he noted that contests for supremacy and internal disputes have gradually weakened the institution that has historically served as a cornerstone of Yoruba identity and governance.
