Tinubu Applauds Faye’s Victory In Senegal’s Presidential Election

Faye emerged victorious in Sunday’s presidential poll, marking a significant milestone in Senegal’s political landscape.
Tinubu’s felicitations were relayed on Wednesday by presidential spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale, wherein he praised President-elect Faye for his immense potential and remarkable track record. Tinubu expressed optimism for Faye’s success in steering Senegal forward as its new leader.
In addition to congratulating Faye, President Tinubu commended President Macky Sall for overseeing an election characterized by its peaceful and transparent conduct. He lauded Sall’s commitment to upholding democratic values, highlighting the importance of such elections in fostering democratic principles.
President Tinubu underscored the significance of recent elections in Senegal and Liberia, emphasizing his belief in the resilience of democracy in West Africa. He stressed that democracy thrives on pillars such as good governance, justice, and fairness.
As the Chair of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), President Tinubu affirmed the success of the Senegal election, affirming its contribution to advancing ECOWAS’ objectives of peace, constitutional order, and unity among member states.
Furthermore, President Tinubu assured Senegal of Nigeria’s unwavering solidarity and support, reaffirming Nigeria’s commitment to assisting its West African neighbor on its journey towards progress and development.
