According to remarks monitored by iReporter Online, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, made this assertion during a radio interview on Wednesday. He urged political stakeholders, particularly in the North, to respect the principle of rotational leadership and allow the South to complete its time in office.

Onanuga criticized recent statements by the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) alleging marginalization, describing such claims as unfounded and politically motivated attempts to undermine the Tinubu administration.

“This president is a Nigerian and deserves the same two terms that Buhari had. Let’s not sacrifice the country for personal ambition,” Onanuga stated during the interview.

He defended the administration against accusations of regional bias in federal appointments, challenging critics to present verifiable data rather than resorting to sweeping allegations. Onanuga maintained that concerns over infrastructure disparity were exaggerated, noting that many of the issues predated the current administration.

Responding to claims of Northern neglect, Onanuga cited the appointment of Northerners to key national security positions as evidence of inclusive governance. He also pointed to recent improvements in security across volatile areas in the North, particularly in parts of Kaduna State.
