Tinubu Drops 4 Powerful Tax Reform Bills On NASS – See What’s Coming!

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially submitted four tax reform bills to the House of Representatives, requesting their swift consideration and approval. This was revealed during Thursday’s plenary session, where Speaker Abbas Tajudeen read the President’s letter highlighting the importance of these legislative proposals.

The bills aim to support Tinubu’s administration’s fiscal objectives and include the Nigeria Tax Bill 2024, which seeks to provide a comprehensive framework for taxation in the country.

Another proposed law is the Tax Administration Bill, intended to establish a streamlined legal framework for all taxes, reducing conflicts within the tax system.

Additionally, the Nigeria Revenue Service Establishment Bill is set to replace the Federal Inland Revenue Service Act, creating the Nigeria Revenue Service. The Joint Revenue Board Establishment Bill, also included, proposes the creation of a tax tribunal and ombudsman to handle tax disputes and ensure taxpayer protection.
