Tinubu Issues Stern Warning To NLC: ‘You Are Not The Sole Voice Of Nigerians’

In a firm address delivered during the inauguration of the Red Line Rail Project in Lagos, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu issued a stark warning to protesting labour unions, cautioning against instigating unrest under the guise of human rights advocacy.

Tinubu, observing the ongoing demonstrations across the nation amid economic challenges, emphasized that the unions must not monopolize the nation’s discourse, asserting, “You are not the only voice Nigeria has…”

The admonition comes in the wake of nationwide protests organized by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) earlier in the week, protesting the escalating cost of living and other economic crises.

While acknowledging the grievances of the populace over prevailing hardships, President Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to its policies aimed at combating corruption and ensuring prudent use of public funds.

Expressing gratitude to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the Red Line project, Tinubu underscored the importance of prioritizing the welfare of citizens in governance, reiterating the imperative of democracy to serve the people’s interests.

As the nation navigates through economic challenges, President Tinubu’s warning serves as a reminder of the need for constructive dialogue and cooperation in addressing pressing issues, with the government resolute in its determination to uphold accountability and foster socio-economic progress.
