Tinubu To Inaugurate Student Loan Scheme On Thursday – Presidency

Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, revealed this during an appearance on TVC’s program ‘Counting the Cost of President Tinubu’s Reforms’ on Sunday.

Ngelale stated, “Later this week, on Thursday, the President will inaugurate the historic National Student Loan Programme.

“This initiative serves as a significant avenue for debt relief for Nigerians, families, and young individuals during these challenging times. We firmly believe this is a step in the right direction.”

On June 12, 2023, Tinubu signed the Access to Higher Education Act, 2023, into law, paving the way for students to access interest-free loans for educational purposes.

Initially slated to commence between September and October 2023, the Federal Government experienced delays in launching the scheme.
