Tinubu Vows Swift Action: Major Projects, Road Links Set For Fast-Track In South-East!
The Federal Government has reaffirmed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to ensuring the timely completion of major infrastructure projects in the South-East, aimed at improving regional connectivity and stimulating economic growth, according to iReporter Online.
This assurance was given by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, during an inspection of the ongoing 88-kilometre Enugu–Abakaliki–Ogoja Federal Road project on Friday.
The project, described as one of the key initiatives of the Tinubu administration in the region, highlights the government’s focus on equitable development across all zones, iReporter Online reports.
Idris noted that the President is determined to ensure that the Southeast is not sidelined in the nation’s infrastructural development agenda. “We are here to confirm what is being done.
We have seen progress in Enugu—massive road construction and a 350-metre flyover—clear signs of President Tinubu delivering on his promise,” he said.
The Minister added that the inspection tour would continue to other parts of the Southeast, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to transparency and delivery.
Meanwhile, Mr. Wasiu Femi, the site engineer overseeing the Enugu–Abakaliki–Ogoja project, explained that while earthworks have been hampered by heavy rains, progress is being made in other areas.
“We are currently working on concrete and stone base paving while waiting for optimal conditions to commence the rigid pavement,” he said, according to iReporter Online.
