Zlatan Ibile: How I Turned A Talent Show Car Into A Taxi To Feed Myself In School

Nigerian rapper and singer Temidayo Omoniyi, popularly known as Zlatan Ibile, has opened up about how he once turned a car he won from a talent competition into a commercial cab to survive during his university days.

According to Ireporter Online, the Zanku Records founder revealed in an interview with popular content creator Shank Comics that financial struggles during his time at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, pushed him to become resourceful with the vehicle he received from the Airtel One Mic Talent Show.

“Back in school, when there was no money for food, I would wait till night and use the car I won from the Airtel One Mic Talent show to run cab from Abeokuta to Shagamu for N350,” Zlatan recalled, reflecting on his humble beginnings.

Despite the hardship, Zlatan’s determination eventually paid off. His major breakthrough came in 2017 with the release of his hit single My Body, featuring renowned rapper Olamide. The artist has repeatedly credited that collaboration as the turning point in his career, describing Olamide’s contribution as “life-changing.”

The award-winning musician, who now enjoys fame and success in the Nigerian entertainment industry, continues to use his story to inspire young artists striving to rise above financial limitations and pursue their dreams.
