Deadly Blast Rocks Borno As Landmine Claims Lives Of 12 Loggers

The incident claimed the lives of 12 loggers, who were on their way to collect firewood when their vehicle hit the landmine near Pulka village. Two NGOs operating in the area reported the tragic incident.

Men suspected to be affiliated with Boko Haram are believed to have planted the explosives, resulting in the deaths of 12 individuals and leaving several others injured.

Seven loggers sustained injuries, with three in critical condition, evacuated to Maiduguri for further medical attention. Despite these reports, the Nigerian security forces have not yet responded to requests for confirmation.

There has been a notable increase in mine explosions targeting civilian convoys in the region, with jihadist groups, including Boko Haram, being held responsible for these attacks.
