As of Friday, 15th March 2024, the exchange rate for a dollar to naira at the Lagos Parallel Market (Black Market) was recorded at N1600 for buying and N1605 for selling, according to sources at Bureau De Change (BDC).

It’s important to note that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) does not recognize the parallel market (black market) and advises individuals to approach their respective banks for foreign exchange transactions.

Black Market Exchange Rate Today:

• Buying Rate: N1600
• Selling Rate: N1605

CBN Rate Today:

• Buying Rate: 1609
• Selling Rate: 1610

In related news, there seems to be confusion between the Federal Government and the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) regarding Nigeria’s average daily crude oil production. While the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, stated that Nigeria’s oil production had risen to 1.65 million barrels per day, OPEC reported a lower figure of 1.32 million barrels per day in February 2024.
