FCT Minister, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has fulfilled his promise by handing over a ₦20 million bounty to the FCT Police Command for the successful arrest of notorious kidnappers. Expressing gratitude on behalf of the FCT Police Command, Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth Igweh, acknowledged Wike’s generosity and commitment to enhancing security in the area. The Minister had instructed the FCT Command to track down and apprehend two notorious bandit/kidnapping leaders responsible for recent criminal activities in Abuja.

Wike’s support included offering a reward of ₦20 million for the capture of these individuals, a promise he made on February 14, 2024. Following through on his commitment, the two wanted kidnappers have been apprehended.

The funds provided by Wike have been distributed among tactical teams and divisional police officers to bolster their efforts in combating crime and ensuring the safety of residents. CP Igweh reaffirmed the Command’s dedication to its mission of protecting the community and urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
