Kano Horror: Gunmen Strike Again, Snatching Lady Moments After Ransom Paid

Unidentified gunmen struck Garo town in Kano’s Kabo Local Government Area, abducting Zainab, a young woman, even after her family paid a ₦8 million ransom.

Eyewitnesses reported that the assailants stormed the home of a prominent businessman, Alhaji Auwal, around 1:20 a.m. on Sunday. Armed with firearms and other weapons, the attackers fired shots into the air, creating chaos before forcibly entering the residence.

Despite receiving the ransom, the gunmen fled with Zainab to an unknown location. The Kano State Police Command has deployed an anti-kidnapping unit and detectives to apprehend the culprits.

This incident adds to growing concerns in the region, following the recent murder of a retired Gombe State official by kidnappers, even after a ₦10 million ransom was paid. Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant as investigations continue.
