According to Ireporter Online, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has denied claims that he owns a property in the United States, describing the allegation as false and misleading.

Wike made the clarification during his monthly media chat on Monday in Abuja while responding to comments made by activist Omoyele Sowore.

The minister stated that although there is no law preventing him from owning property abroad, he does not own any house in Florida as alleged. He also cautioned against the spread of unverified information about public officials, stressing the need for responsible discourse.

Wike further questioned why Sowore had continued to make such claims without providing evidence, insisting that the allegations were unfounded and should not be taken seriously.

He also used the platform to apologise for the continued presence of cattle roaming parts of Abuja, taking responsibility for the situation while noting that efforts are ongoing to address it.

According to him, development projects under the FCT Administration are not limited to the city centre but also extend to satellite towns, including roads, water supply, and residential infrastructure for public officers.

Wike explained that communities are actively involved in identifying and nominating roads for construction, a process he said helps improve accessibility, reduce insecurity, and open up rural areas to farmlands.

He added that some of the completed projects would be commissioned alongside President Bola Tinubu as part of activities marking the President’s third year in office, noting that ongoing infrastructure efforts are already improving connectivity and security across the FCT.
