Why I Hid My Marriage From The Public — Baba Ijesha’s Wife
Abiodun Folashade Tokunbo, the wife of Nollywood actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, widely known as Baba Ijesha, has opened up about her decision to keep their marriage away from public attention, describing privacy as a key factor in maintaining her peace of mind and personal well-being.
According to Ireporter Online, Tokunbo, the Chief Executive Officer of Lagos-based fashion brand Anjy Luminee Couture, popularly known as House of Luminee, shared the reason behind her preference for a private family life in a heartfelt Instagram post. Accompanied by a photo reflecting her journey with her husband through the years, she expressed gratitude for how far they have come despite life’s challenges.
In her post, she emphasized that exercising discretion in personal matters had been instrumental in preserving her inner peace. She wrote, “Before and After. Aanu Ni!. Oju ri! But Anu speaks. This right time to fly together. Privacy is peace to me.”
Her remarks came shortly after Baba Ijesha announced the arrival of their baby boy. The actor celebrated the birth by appreciating Tokunbo, whom he affectionately described as his “ever beautiful wife, strong Jagaban,” while introducing their son as “King Kagar Omiyinka.”
Tokunbo also disclosed that the newborn is the couple’s first child together after 12 years, making the announcement even more significant. However, she did not clarify whether the pair had been married or in a relationship throughout that period. She also referenced her daughter in the celebratory message.
Beyond her family life, Tokunbo has built a successful career in the fashion industry. Originally from Ijesha Isu in Ekiti State and the sixth daughter in a family of eight, she attended Hosanna Africa Primary School and Methodist Girls High School before earning a National Diploma in Banking and Finance from The Polytechnic, Ibadan. She later obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Lagos State University and launched Anjy Luminee Couture in 2013 shortly after completing her final examinations.
