Okeke-Ogene shed light on the disturbing reality of over ten checkpoints along the Onitsha to Ekwulobia road, where drivers face varying demands depending on the time of day.

He emphasized the colossal amounts collected, suggesting that the funds could be substantial enough to contribute to the construction of the much-needed third Niger Bridge.

As the issue escalates, Okeke-Ogene stressed the need to address these extortions, emphasizing that the collected funds should be directed towards genuine development rather than perpetuating illegal practices.
