Hon Orbunde, who is currently receiving treatment for gunshot wounds in a hospital in Makurdi, disclosed that the abductors contacted him directly at around 8:30 am today. They also allowed his wife and cook to speak with him during the conversation.

During the attack, which occurred around 6 pm yesterday, the gunmen conversed among themselves in Fulani and communicated with Hon Orbunde in Hausa, indicating that they would make further contact via phone.

The former Chief of Staff recounted that the abductors warned him to prepare to send them money, threatening to harm his wife and cook if he failed to comply with their demands.

The incident took place when gunmen attacked Hon Orbunde on Friday while he was supervising work on his farm in Makurdi. He sustained a gunshot wound to the forearm, while his wife, Mrs. Abigail Kashimana Orbunde, and their cook, Patience Ogute, were abducted and taken to an undisclosed location.
