APC New Media Alleges Obaseki Recruited 11,000 Thugs to Cause Electoral Mayhem in Edo State

The APC New Media Directorate has issued a grave warning about Governor Godwin Obaseki’s alleged actions to disrupt the democratic process in Edo State. The Directorate claims that the Obaseki administration has recruited approximately 11,000 thugs to incite violence and mayhem in a bid to secure the election of Asue Ighodalo as governor.

According to the APC New Media Directorate, these recruits are being employed to target and intimidate opposition figures, with the goal of undermining APC leadership and supporters. The group alleges that opposition members are being arrested and transported to distant states on fabricated charges of terrorism and gun-running, a move intended to neutralize key opponents before the election.

The Directorate also accuses the Obaseki government of preventing schools from resuming to clear the streets, allowing these operatives to carry out their violent agenda unchecked. The tactics reportedly include attacks on APC strongholds, instilling fear, and deterring voters from participating in the electoral process.

Recent incidents include repeated attacks on the APC campaign train in Edo North and allegations that violence in Benin City is being disguised as “cult clashes” to hide its political motives. The APC New Media Directorate calls on Edo citizens to stand firm against these actions and defend the integrity of the election.

The APC remains resolute in its commitment to free, fair, and peaceful elections and urges the public to resist any attempts to subvert democracy in Edo State.
