APC To Host Educational Grants And Women Empowerment Day In Edo

Ahead of the upcoming governorship election in Edo State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) will host an *Educational Grants and Women Empowerment Day* on Monday, September 16, 2024, to promote education and women’s development in the state.

Powered by Hon. Omorede Osifo, APC National Deputy Treasurer, and Amb. Western Iyamu, Convener of Diaspora Friends of Senator Monday Okpebholo, the event will have Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa as one of the key figures in attendance. Serving as *Fathers of the Day* will be Edo APC apex leader, Senator Adams Aliu Oshiomhole, and Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.

Other notable attendees include former deputy governors Dr. Pius Egberamwen Odubu and Hon. Lucky Imasuen, Senator Matthew Urhoghide, Prince Austin Eweka, and General Cecil Esekhaigbe (rtd). The *Mothers of the Day* will feature Prof. Idia Ize-Iyamu and Lady Betty Okoebor, the APC Edo State Women Leader.

These prominent personalities are expected to show their support for the APC governorship ticket. The event will also feature a special appearance by Nollywood actor Kunle Coker, adding entertainment to the proceedings.

Other prominent APC leaders expected to attend include Emperor Jarret Tenebe, Chairman of the Edo State APC, Engr. Lawrence Okah, Secretary of the Edo State APC, Hon. Patrick Obahiagbon, Leader of Oredo APC, Hon. Osazee Imasogie aka Zaggy, APC leader Mrs. Itohan Edokpolo, Edo South APC Senatorial Women Leader, Chief Mrs. Toyin Opawoye, APC National Ex-Officio (North-Central), Chief Bisi Idaomi Esq., Director of Administration for the Edo State APC Campaign Council, and Hon. Osaro Obazee, former Oredo Local Government Council Chairman, among others.

With the theme “*A New Edo Rising*,” the event will serve as a major platform for endorsing the APC’s governorship candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, popularly known as Akpakomiza, and his running mate, Hon. Dennis Idahosa, also known as Denco. Both candidates are committed to advancing education and women’s empowerment as key aspects of their campaign for the Edo State gubernatorial election.

The Okpebholo Mandate Coalition, led by Hon. Omorede Osifo, and the Diaspora Friends of Senator Okpebholo, are calling on all Edo residents to join them in their mission for a better Edo under APC leadership. The event will commence at 12 noon and promises strong community and political engagement.
