As reported by Punch, Atiku conveyed his sentiments to his supporters via a WhatsApp group chat following the contentious NEC meeting in Abuja. Reflecting on his numerous presidential bids, Atiku affirmed, “There is God. It is God that gives power, not anybody.”

In response, one of his supporters expressed solidarity, affirming faith in Atiku’s aspirations and invoking divine favor for his political endeavors. The supporter’s message conveyed optimism, emphasizing unity and collective effort towards achieving shared goals.

Meanwhile, Taofeek Arapaja, the party’s Deputy National Chairman (South), addressed calls for the suspension of certain PDP members, including Minister of Federal Capital Territory Nyesome Wike, over alleged anti-party activities. Arapaja clarified that the NEC does not have the authority to suspend members and highlighted the role of internal mechanisms such as reconciliation and disciplinary committees in handling such matters.

Arapaja emphasized the need for formal complaints and adherence to established party procedures, indicating that allegations of anti-party actions should be directed to the disciplinary committee for proper assessment and resolution. He underscored that the NEC’s focus lies elsewhere and that disciplinary matters are outside its purview.
