Atiku Strongly Condemns Death Threats Against Yorubas and Benin People by Canada-Based Woman
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has condemned the recent death threats made against Yorubas and Benin people by a woman reportedly living in Canada. Atiku, a prominent figure in Nigerian politics, expressed his strong disapproval of such hateful and divisive rhetoric, emphasizing that no individual or group should be subjected to threats based on their ethnicity or origin.
Atiku stressed the importance of unity and peaceful coexistence among all ethnic groups in Nigeria. He described the threats as unacceptable and called on authorities to investigate the matter thoroughly.
Atiku also urged Nigerians, both at home and abroad, to avoid making inflammatory remarks that could incite violence or create unnecessary tension among the diverse communities in the country. He highlighted the role of social media in spreading such messages and cautioned against using these platforms to disseminate hate speech.
The former Vice President reiterated his commitment to promoting national unity and urged other leaders to join in condemning actions that threaten the peace and stability of the nation. Atiku’s statement has been widely applauded by many who share his concern over the growing trend of ethnic-based hostility.
Authorities in Canada and Nigeria are expected to work together to address the issue, ensuring that such threats are not taken lightly and that the responsible parties are held accountable.
Atiku’s call for peace and unity serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining harmony in Nigeria’s multi-ethnic society, especially in times when tensions can easily escalate due to irresponsible statements.
