Bangladesh-Nigeria Trade Reaches $100 Million, Says Envoy

The Bangladesh High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr. Masudur Rahman, announced that bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Nigeria have significantly strengthened in recent years, with trade growing from $50 million to over $100 million.

Rahman made these remarks during a reception in Abuja celebrating the 54th Independence and National Day of Bangladesh. He emphasized the increasing interest from businesses and entrepreneurs in both nations to build mutually beneficial partnerships.

Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, was represented by Ambassador Wahab Akande, Chief of Protocol, who extended heartfelt congratulations to Bangladesh on its national day. Akande also reflected on the longstanding diplomatic relations between the two countries, which began in 1976, and the continued cordiality of their ties. He praised the efforts of both nations to improve trade and economic cooperation, expressing optimism for even greater collaboration in the future.
