The appellate court concurred with the Tribunal’s ruling on September 11th, which had previously determined that Nnamani was convicted of forging a University of Port Harcourt degree certificate in 2015, thereby rendering him ineligible to hold public office for 10 years.

The appeal court affirmed that the tribunal’s decision from 2015, which was also upheld by the Appeal Court that same year, still stands. Consequently, the appeal by the Labour Party’s candidate has been dismissed.
With this ousting, Nnamani has now lost two elections on the grounds of certificate forgery.
