Breaking: FG Welcomes 72-Nigerian Railway Engineers-Trained In China (View-Details)
The Federal Government has warmly received 72 Nigerian graduates who completed their training in Railway Engineering and related transportation courses in China, sponsored by the China Civil Engineering Construction Company (CCECC) as part of its corporate social responsibility.
Olujimi Oyetomi, the Director of Press and Public Relations at the Ministry of Transportation, made this announcement in a statement issued on Saturday. The training initiative was highlighted during an event where Senator Said Alkali, the Minister of Transportation, underscored the importance of the National Local Content Policy for the Railway sector, established in 2018.
“The government recognizes the pivotal role of the rail transport sub-sector in national development, hence the advocacy for enhanced local content in Nigeria’s infrastructure development based on Nigerian-Chinese bilateral agreements,” the statement read.
The Minister emphasized the success of the Ministry’s initiatives, noting that the training program in China signifies a significant stride towards enhancing indigenous capacity in the railway industry.
