Fuel Scarcity: Petrol Price-Soars To N750 Per-Litre In Akure (Details)
Residents of Akure are facing steep petrol prices as Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as fuel, has surged to N750 per litre across the city. This represents a sharp increase from less than N700 per litre just a week ago.
Numerous petrol stations within the Akure metropolis have reported running out of fuel, exacerbating the situation for motorists and residents reliant on gasoline. Marketers have indicated that they are awaiting new supplies after selling out their existing stock.
Shina Amoo, Chairman of IPMAN at the Ore Depot, acknowledged the widespread shortage, attributing it to broader supply chain issues affecting the entire country. He expressed optimism that the situation would soon stabilize.
The escalating fuel prices and scarcity have raised concerns among the public, highlighting ongoing challenges in Nigeria’s petroleum sector.
