Architect Kabir Ibrahim Faskari, a former President of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) and the Poultry Association of Nigeria (PAN), has died in Istanbul, Turkey.

Faskari reportedly passed away following complications arising from prostate surgery. At the time of his death, he was serving as Chairman of the Agriculture Business Group and remained actively involved in Nigeria’s agricultural and agribusiness sectors.

A close associate of the deceased, who confirmed the development, disclosed that some of Faskari’s associates had recently travelled to Istanbul to visit him. According to the source, the visitors held discussions with the former AFAN president shortly before returning to Nigeria.

The associate said Faskari subsequently developed complications related to the surgery, leading to his death.

Reports indicate that the late agriculturist is expected to be buried in Turkey, although further details concerning the funeral arrangements were not immediately available.

Faskari was widely recognised as a prominent voice in Nigeria’s agricultural sector, having played influential roles in major farmers’ organisations, including AFAN and PAN.

During his years of leadership and advocacy, he consistently raised concerns about the challenges facing Nigerian farmers, poultry producers and agribusiness operators. He was also actively involved in discussions on food security, agricultural policies and measures required to improve food production across the country.

Faskari frequently engaged with the media, granting interviews in which he shared his perspectives on Nigeria’s agricultural sector and highlighted the difficulties confronting farmers and other stakeholders.
