The investigation revolves around the alleged laundering of N37,170,855,753.44 during her tenure, facilitated through a contractor named James Okwete.

Our correspondent verified the ex-minister’s arrival at approximately 10 am on Monday.

In a related development, the former Minister took to Twitter at about 10:20 am to announce her presence at the EFCC headquarters. She tweeted, “I have, at my behest, arrived at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to honour the invitation by the anti-graft agency to offer clarifications in respect of some issues that the commission is investigating.”

Earlier reports from The PUNCH indicated that, citing health challenges, Umar-Farouq had officially requested an extension of the deadline to meet with EFCC interrogators regarding the alleged money laundering through contractor Okwete.
