Shehu’s professional journey includes serving as the National Coordinator of the Conditional Cash Transfer Programme, where her banking expertise facilitated the program’s digital transformation.

Originating from Kafin Dagi village, Katsina, Katsina State, Shehu obtained her First School Leaving Certificate and pursued secondary education at the Federal Government College, Kaduna State, securing her West African Examination Certificate.

She continued her academic journey at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language. Later, she obtained a Master’s degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy from ABU, Zaria.

Following her education, Shehu fulfilled her National Youth Service Corps obligation at the Afri-Project Consortium under the Petroleum Trust Fund.

Subsequently, she embarked on a decade-long banking career, commencing at the former Intercity Bank before transitioning to Unity and Access Banks.

Proficient in financial transactions, Shehu served in various banking units, including cash, funds transfer, clearing, reconciliation, operations, and coordination across all three banks.

Entering the political arena in 2010, Shehu’s journey saw her appointed in 2011 as a Senior Special Assistant to former Katsina State governor Ibrahim Shema. Additionally, she contributed as a member of the state’s Internal Revenue Board.
