However, Ademola-Olateju, speaking on Channels Television’s Lunchtime Politics on Friday, clarified that the President requested the deputy governor to provide a signed, undated resignation letter as a precautionary measure in case of unforeseen developments.
“First of all before I even talk about the Abuja meeting I just want to thank the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for being a very good leader, wielding into the crisis in Ondo State.
“His intervention has cooled the temperature that was just going haywire in Ondo State, we thank him. At the Abuja meeting, key decisions were made by Mr President who is the leader of our party the All Progressives Congress. Those key decisions were that the status quo in the state be maintained.
“He decided that the executive council must not be dissolved under any condition and the party structure should be maintained, that the leadership of the House of Assembly should be intact and he nominated three people; the Secretary to the State Government, the party chairman and the speaker of the house to be the enforcers and to forestall further problems.

The Ondo State House of Assembly, along with its Speaker, has opted to retract an appeal previously lodged before the Court of Appeal, Abuja. This appeal contested the jurisdiction of the Federal High Court, Abuja, which had issued a ruling preventing the proposed impeachment of Deputy Governor Aiyedatiwa.
Initially challenging the Federal High Court’s jurisdiction and contesting the ruling that halted the planned impeachment, the House of Assembly and its Speaker, represented by counsel Remi Olatobura, informed the three-member appellate court panel during Thursday’s proceedings that they were withdrawing the appeal.
Olatobura, a senior lawyer, conveyed to the court that his clients had given him instructions to withdraw the appeal. He explained that the parties involved had reached a political resolution to their issues and had formally agreed to withdraw the appeal. This withdrawal, he emphasized, was in the interest of peace and aligned with the mutually agreed terms.
Confirmation from respondents in the appeal affirmed that they had been served with the notice of withdrawal and expressed no objection to this decision. Subsequently, Justice Haruna Tsammani, leading the three-member panel, dismissed the appeal, given its withdrawal by the appellants.
